Adoption question for those from RQ's site and any other adoptive parents

Since so many of you come from RQ's adoption website, I thought I'd post a question that I don't think I can in the forum. If you read my posting in the forum there and never have been here before, thanks for coming. by. We have not yet started our adoption, we have planned on using Journeys of the Heart, which has a local office in IL, which is a mediumn or small agency; I have been looking into Children's Hope International, a medium to large agency. I am wondering if any of you have any experience with either or both of them and give me any feedback. I am posting my e-mail at the forum of RQ's website, so you can e-mail me a response or leave a comment in the comments section. Thanks. Sorry for any typos; I am typing without my glasses and doing so rather quickly.

Also, please don't suggest other agencies. I know there are lots of good and great ones. I really appreciate any feedback.

There is a yahoo group called "rate your agency" that may have more information on the specific agencies you are inquiring about.

a great additional resource for you on agency's would be http://groups.yahoo.com/group/RateYourChinaAdoptionAgency/

They keep a database of parent ratings/comments and the board is an open forum for specific agency requests

My husband and I are with CHI and have found them to be very professional, responsive, and to provide reliable information.
They seem to have good contact within CCAA, as they have provided us as clients with information that no other source has had.
Anything else you want to know?

Hi Kathryn: I saw your post on RQ this am. I bookmarked your blog, but cannot find your RQ post to get your email. I am with CHI. Please email me at chiefsfantrish@yahoo.com. Trish

    Kathryn,
We are on our second adoption through CHI. I HIGHLY recommend them. They take excellent care of you from start to finish. Also, they are multi-country and have a separate foundation for humanitarian work. Feel free to email me if you have questions or need more info.

I will never use CHI again. They take so long to get you to China. It is taking 8 to 9 weeks after referral to travel. Their literature states 6 to 8 weeks and when I called them on this they stated that 8 weeks is the average and denied saying 6 weeks. Their database confirms it in black and white. (I do like the database on their yahoo group.)

I used CHI and I highly recommend them also. Yes - it was 8 weeks before we went there after our referral but the coordinators in China were wonderful.

We never wanted for anything. Several families had sick children and the guide sat with them the whole time at the hospital. She was always coming around checking to make sure everything was ok.

We are going to use CHI for our second adoption also.
