Adoption question for those from RQ's site and any other adoptive parents

Since so many of you come from RQ's adoption website, I thought I'd post a question that I don't think I can in the forum. If you read my posting in the forum there and never have been here before, thanks for coming. by. We have not yet started our adoption, we have planned on using Journeys of the Heart, which has a local office in IL, which is a mediumn or small agency; I have been looking into Children's Hope International, a medium to large agency. I am wondering if any of you have any experience with either or both of them and give me any feedback. I am posting my e-mail at the forum of RQ's website, so you can e-mail me a response or leave a comment in the comments section. Thanks. Sorry for any typos; I am typing without my glasses and doing so rather quickly.

Also, please don't suggest other agencies. I know there are lots of good and great ones. I really appreciate any feedback.

Brrr!! I can't believe how quickly, it has gotten cold. It is already down to about 40 degrees outside. I haven't resorted to turning on the heat. Even though if it gets much colder out, I will. I'm just enjoying that since the weather the month below has been very mild. I have not even had to run the air or the heat and both the electric and gas have been pretty low. They are predicting electricity bills to increase 20-40 percent, because for the past nine years there has been a rates freeze and now that freeze period is almost over and natural gas was ridiculous last year, plus it was the first winter in our own house and before when we were in apartments, we never had to worry about paying for heat. Well, not only is it past my bedtime, I think it will be a lot warmer under the covers then it is in this room. I just hope it warms up; this weather is more typical for October than mid-September.

Pictures That I Promised

I just realized that back several weeks ago, I promised a couple pics from when we had our work outing. I only have a couple of the grounds; sorry no pictures were taken of the races or thye horses.

This is a pretty bad picture, but here's a picture of me with my co-workers.

Aaarrgghh!

I reorganized my links, but now things do not line up and I have no idea why or how to fix it! Got me pretty frustrated!

Rain, Rain, Go Away

This is the 3rd day of rain. I'm so sick of it. I'll take cool weather as long as we have sun! Sunny and warmwould be the best, but I'll take anything about as long as there is SUN!Summer just seemed to go bye-bye, so quickly this year. Although, it will be wonderful to have a low electr=ic bill as well as a low gas bill. Not looking forward to those gas bills at all. Much prefer the electric bills; at least those don't climb too as exorbitant prices.

Today at lunch I have to go to Carson Pirie Scott's, also known as Bergner's and a couple other names that I don't remember. They have their goodwill sale, so I brought a suit that no longer fits and is totally out of fashion and I'll get a 20% off certificate for i!. I also have to do something, I haven't done in years. Buy new pants in a size LARGER than what I have been wearing!!! For the past couple years, I have managed to fit into my size 8s, which I have worn since forever, with only an occasional sixe 6 and that was years ago, probably a decade or more give or take. I also have a couple 25^% coupons, so hopefully, I'll get some good deal.

September already?

I can't believe it is already September and the weather is getting cool already. Overnight it has been getting into the mid or lower 50s - have to pull up the blanket. It's nice though not having to run the air conditioner. The electric bill for this last month was so much higher than usual with all the heat and humidity we'd been having.

Last Thursday, was our summer outing at work. I'll post a couple photos later, since they are on my home computer. It sure was nice having a 3-day weekend though; of course the weekend was over way too fast. Friday night, Kevin went to the first home football game for our local high school. On Saturday, we went out to breakfastrother and his wife and picked up the extra lawn mower he had that he wanted to get rid of. Our lawn mower has been in the shop more the past month & half than it was at home. They can't get it fixed right and their delivery system to get it where it needs to go to be fixed and then back to where we dropped it off, is just ridiculous. It takes weeks for it to get to 2 different l9ocations, which are not even 50 miles apart. You could walk it between locations quicker. I definitely DO NOT recommend the service warranties at Sears. We had a place in town that we could have taken it to, but since we paid extra for the service warranty, we decided we might as well take it back to where we got it. Not a smart idea. They diod tell us that if we have to bring it back for the same thing, we get it replaced.

So when Kevin got the old mower home, he cut the grassd, which was badly needed. Late that afternoon, we ended up going to the Walworth County Fair. It was very nice and Kevin got to see lots of his favorite animals, COWS! On Sunday after church, we ended up going to the neighbors for a Labor Day get together. We stayed pretty much all day. Later on Monday afternoon, we ventured down to my parents. Lots of driving over the weekend; thank goodness gas prices are going down. They're in the mid to upper 2.70s or lower 2.80s by us, which is a lot better than the $3 it had been a couple weeks before.

Being such a huge Starbuck's fan, why did I not get this offer?

Caribou jumps on Starbucks snafu

September 2, 2006

BY SHAMUS TOOMEY Staff Reporter

Starbucks' mess has become Caribou Coffee's promotion.

The Minnesota-based Caribou said Friday it will honor e-mail coupons that Starbucks voided this week after someone changed the wording and spread them online.

There's a catch, though. Caribou said it will only honor the coupons from noon until closing time Friday.

Customers can redeem one coupon at Caribou for a free medium iced americano, iced tea or cold press iced coffee, the new product Caribou is trying to promote by seizing on the Starbucks debacle.

Starbucks said it distributed an e-mail coupon for a free iced coffee to a limited number of its employees in the Southeast on Aug. 23. Someone altered it to offer any iced drink, and it quickly took off online. Hundreds of thousands of coupons were printed, and customers around the world -- including as far away as Australia -- have been redeeming the coupons in recent days.

Starbucks killed the promotion late Tuesday.
